An award-winning curry house on Anglesey has been told it needs to make "major improvements" by hygiene inspectors after they found an infestation of ants and mould. The Sopna Tandoori restaurant in Menai Bridge scored just one out of a possible five marks following a visit by food safety officials on Thursday, March 30. The failure to receive a pass-rating of three or above came after a number of issues were raised by the food safety officer.

Nuclear bosses have been urged to sit down with the owners of a former oil depot to develop an economic legacy for northern Anglesey. The chairman of Amlwch Town Council had been leading calls to transform the former Shell Oil depot in Rhosgoch to first house up to 4,000 nuclear construction staff, before being later transformation into a "Center Parcs" style development once the plant was built.

More than 2,000 spectators came out to support competitors of the annual Great Strait Raft Run on Anglesey's Menai Strait Hundreds of people gave a minute applause for the Manchester and London terror attack victims at Anglesey's Great Strait Raft Run today. Instead of a minute silence, onlookers and competitors of the annual race put their hands together to commemorate those who were killed in the Manchester bombing following Ariana Grande's concert on May 22 and those who tragically died in last night's London Bridge terror attack.

Police did not use powers designed to tackle anti social behaviour in an Anglesey town centre, despite last month applying for a high-profile dispersal order. After an increase in calls regarding youths drinking alcohol and meeting in and around Llangefni , North Wales Police applied for the specialist permission over the weekend of May 19-21 in a bid to tackle such issues.

An inquest took place into the death Lisa Boylan, also known as Lisa Williams, who died during the tragic incident on Newry Beach in Holyhead A coroner said he could offer no explanation as to why a young mum doused herself with petrol before setting it alight on an Anglesey beach. An inquest into her death at Caernarfon today heard how three men tried desperately to save Mrs Boylan, the mum of five young children , but the intense heat was too much for them.

A Cwmbran accountant successfully cycled 360-miles across Wales as part of the Leonard Cheshire Tour de Cymru team challenge; raising more than A 10,000 in the process. Nick Park, partner at Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors, braved the terrain of rural Wales as he cycled across five days from Anglesey to south east Wales, finishing at the Leonard Cheshire home in Llanhennock, near Newport.

North Wales Police rural crime team posted on its Twitter feed images of the horse's injuries after its owner discovered it had been the target of an airgun shooting in Dulas. The injuries were only noticed when the horse was brought in to have work done on its hooves.
